Work Package 6 - Validation of the CDSS Modules

  • Participants: CHU Rouen, CH Denain, CHU Lille, KITE, Region H, UMIT
  • Objectives: Validate the accuracy of the Clinical Decision Support System (CDSS) modules developed in WP5 to ensure:
    - That the CDSS performs as intended
    - That the patients safety is not endangered
  • Work Process: The validation implies a collection of realistic clinical data, pilot studies, analysis and rating of the results, this process consists of 5 steps which are:
    - Collection of a set of test cases: Together with the clinical partners, realistic test cases will be developed. These will describe patient’s clinical data (diagnosis, allergies etc.) and then formulate typical order sets.
    - Choosing an appropriate order subset: Subsets will be defined and an order of test cases will be fixed. Order may start with less complex test cases.
    - Validation: The test cases will be given to the CDSS modules and the outcomes will be documented.
    - Rating the Results: The correctness and appropriateness of the output of the CDSS modules will be rated by clinical experts.
    - Results: The results from the test cases as well as the ratings of clinical experts will be aggregated and analysed to give concrete recommendations, these may comprise areas where the output is wrong, insufficient or misleading.
  • Expected Results: Validation of the CDSS modules
