Work Package 11 - Usability Engineering

  • Participants: AAU, CHU Lille, KITE, Region H, UMIT
  • Objectives: Support a user-centred approach to the design of the Contextualised Clinical Decision Support System (Cx-CDSS) modules and of the Human Computer Interface of the PSIP services for healthcare professionals and patients. Ensure the usability of the PSIP services to both healthcare professionals and patients.
  • Work Process: A main goal to achieve in this WP is to facilitate the use of the CDSS modules; usability is effectiveness, efficiency and satisfaction with which users can achieve a set of tasks in a particular context. Within usability engineering, specific methods have been developed to achieve the usability of a product or application. This requires a two-stage approach:
    - analysis of the socio-technical system combined with a user-centred approach to the design of the system.
    - usability assessment of the prototype, the outcome of this evaluation is a list of usability problems and recommendations for fixing the problems.
  • Expected Results: Human factors based recommendations and specifications. Usability problems and possible solutions for the Human Computer Interface (HCI) of the support services for healthcare professionals and patients. Recommendations and specifications for the design of the Cx-CDSS modules and services for healthcare professionals and patients.
